Rahul Gandhi’s Major Allegation: Why is Amit Shah Afraid to Speak in Parliament About Violence Against Students?

Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi has intensified his attack on Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He reiterated allegations regarding the police action against students during a protest march to Parliament on July 20. He demanded Amit Shah’s resignation and called for a Supreme Court-monitored probe into the incident. In a post, Rahul questioned why Amit Shah is so afraid to come to Parliament and explain the brutal violence inflicted upon students, suggesting that this fear implies his culpability. Earlier, in another post, Rahul Gandhi stated that students deserve justice and called for the formation of an independent, high-level committee—monitored by the Supreme Court—to investigate the brutality faced by the students. Meanwhile, at a press conference in New Delhi, Gandhi alleged that excessive force was used against the students, asserting that either Amit Shah had ordered the police action or was completely unaware of it. He reiterated his demand to fix accountability for those responsible. This demand follows a protest staged by opposition MPs at the Makar Dwar of the Parliament complex on Thursday. The protest raised issues concerning the alleged police action against student protesters and allegations of misappropriation of donations meant for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. MPs from several parties of the ‘INDIA’ alliance gathered around 10:30 AM, holding placards that questioned who had ordered the police action during the protest at Jantar Mantar on July 20. They raised slogans demanding accountability from the central government regarding the use of force against students and financial irregularities linked to donations made for the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya.
