Himachal government considering inclusion of health education in school curriculum: Sukhu

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Saturday said the state government is considering inclusion of health education in school curriculum to create awareness from an early age. Sukhu said, “The health sector is the top priority of the state government and many reforms are being implemented to improve it further.” The Chief Minister got himself examined for tuberculosis (TB) through a mobile X-ray machine at a program organized on the occasion of the launch of the 100-day TB eradication campaign (Ni-Kshay Abhiyan). Sukhu was quoted in a statement issued here as saying that this campaign is an important step towards making Himachal Pradesh TB free. Its aim is to timely identify TB cases, effective treatment and raise awareness in communities. Sukhu said the government is also considering inclusion of health education in school curriculum to create awareness from an early age.
