Shivakumar Calls Siddaramaiah a Mentor
A day after Siddaramaiah stepped down as the Chief Minister of Karnataka, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar shared an emotional message, lauding the veteran leader’s journey, leadership, and contributions to the state. In a heartfelt post on X, Shivakumar wrote, “God grants neither boons nor curses; He merely provides opportunities. What truly matters is how we utilize those opportunities.” He highlighted Siddaramaiah’s journey from a small village in Mysuru to becoming one of Karnataka’s most influential political figures. Describing Siddaramaiah’s political career as a symbol of perseverance and social justice, Shivakumar thanked him for his years of service and welfare-oriented governance. He stated that the numerous public welfare schemes and developmental initiatives launched under Siddaramaiah’s leadership would remain an integral part of Karnataka’s growth narrative. Highlighting Siddaramaiah’s public life spanning nearly five decades, Shivakumar noted that he has shaped the state’s political and social fabric through inclusive governance. In his post, Shivakumar recalled their political partnership, which began in 2020 when he assumed the office of President of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC). He wrote, “Ever since I was entrusted with the responsibility of KPCC President in 2020, Siddaramaiah has stood firmly by my side, serving as a pillar of strength.” The Deputy Chief Minister further stated that working with Siddaramaiah has been a learning experience, and he expressed hope that the senior leader’s guidance would continue in the future as well. Concluding the post with the adage, “If you want to go fast, walk alone; if you want to go far, walk together,” Shivakumar signaled unity within the Congress party despite the major leadership change that took place in Karnataka.
