People were afraid to even pass through the area; the fear and panic were such that merely mentioning the name ‘Etawah’ made it difficult to secure hotel rooms, and there was absolutely no investment. The Chief Minister credited the BJP government with fulfilling its pledge to adopt a tough stance against crime and implement a ‘zero-tolerance’ policy after coming to power in 2017.
