The party has fielded renowned mathematician KC Sinha from the Kumhrar seat in Patna. Bhojpuri singer Ritesh Pandey has been fielded from the Kargahar seat, where Prashant Kishore was rumored to contest. Elections for the 243 assembly seats in Bihar will be held in two phases – November 6 and November 11, with counting taking place on November 14. The state’s political landscape remains volatile, with shifting alliances and internal strife shaping both major coalitions. Currently, the NDA holds 131 seats – comprising the BJP (80), the JD(U) (45), the Hindustan Awam Morcha (4), and two independents. The opposition Grand Alliance has 111 seats – RJD (77), Congress (19), CPI(ML) (11), CPI(M) (2) and CPI (2). This year’s Bihar elections are expected to be a triangular contest between the NDA, India Block and Prashant Kishor’s newly emerging Jan Suraj Party. Political observers believe that Jan Suraj could become a key factor in determining the election results, especially in constituencies where traditional alliances have become unpopular with voters.

Political strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishore’s Jan Suraj Party on Thursday (October 9) released its first list of 51 candidates for the

[3
