‘PM Modi is snatching away the rights of the poor by changing the MGNREGA law,’ says Rahul Gandhi

Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the decision to repeal the MGNREGA Act, accusing him of prioritizing bureaucrats over the poor. Speaking to the media on the issue of the repeal of the MGNREGA Act, Rahul Gandhi accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of centralizing power and handing it over to the bureaucracy, leaving poor citizens to starve. Rahul Gandhi said that the objective of MGNREGA was to provide economic security and minimum wages to unemployed rural citizens. Prime Minister Narendra Modi does not want this; he wants to centralize power and hand it over to the bureaucracy and leave poor citizens to starve. With the amendment to the Act, the protection for the poor has ended. Therefore, the Congress is running a nationwide Save MGNREGA campaign… The Prime Minister wants the entire country’s economy to go into the hands of Ambani and Adani, while we are trying to help the poor. Rahul Gandhi also condemned the removal of Mahatma Gandhi’s name from the amended VB-G Ram-G Act. The Congress MP inaugurated the Raebareli Premier League organized by the Youth Sports Academy Raebareli at the Rajiv Gandhi Cricket Stadium today. The Congress MP is on a two-day visit to his parliamentary constituency Raebareli to address a public meeting protesting the repeal of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) and to meet with senior party leaders.
