No stubble burning incidents reported in Delhi this winter: Delhi Chief Minister
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said on Saturday that not a single incident of stubble burning was reported in Delhi during this winter season, and she credited the government’s pollution control policy for this achievement. She said that this success was made possible through the coordinated efforts of the Development Department’s agriculture unit and the Environment Department, continuous monitoring, and the active cooperation of farmers. Gupta said that the fact that not a single incident of stubble burning was recorded in Delhi during this winter season is a significant achievement of the Delhi government’s pollution control policy. The Chief Minister said that despite paddy cultivation on approximately 7,000 acres of land in Delhi this year, not a single incident of stubble burning was reported, and she described it as a decisive step towards cleaner air through strict monitoring and the cooperation of farmers. She said that the deterioration of air quality during winters is considered a serious challenge for Delhi, with stubble burning being a major contributing factor.
