Piyush Goyal to visit Israel from November 20-22
According to a release issued by the Commerce Ministry of the Government of India on Wednesday, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal will undertake a three-day official visit to Israel from November 20-22, 2025, at the invitation of Israeli Minister of Economy and Industry Nir Barkat. The visit aims to strengthen the growing strategic and economic partnership between the two countries. Goyal will be accompanied by a 60-member business delegation representing CII, FICCI, ASSOCHAM, and Start-up India, reflecting the growing industry-to-industry ties between the two countries. According to the Commerce Ministry, Goyal will hold high-level bilateral meetings with senior Israeli leadership, including Barkat and other key ministers. Discussions will focus on promoting trade and investment ties and enhancing cooperation in sectors such as agriculture, water, defense, emerging technologies, life sciences, advanced manufacturing, and infrastructure. The two sides are also expected to review the progress of the proposed India-Israel Free Trade Agreement (FTA). During this visit, Goyal will address the India-Israel Business Forum, which brings together leading business associations and industry representatives from both countries. The event will include plenary sessions, technical discussions, and B2B engagements aimed at promoting investment, expanding commercial ties, and exploring joint venture opportunities. The fourth edition of the CEO Forum will also be held. In addition, the Minister will interact with senior executives from leading Israeli companies operating in sectors such as agriculture, desalination, wastewater treatment, cybersecurity, smart mobility, and infrastructure, as well as meet with prominent Israeli investors. Goyal’s program also includes visits to key innovation centers and institutions in Tel Aviv, providing insights into Israel’s technology ecosystem. Cultural and community engagements are also planned, including interactions with Indian expatriates and business leaders of Indian origin. This visit is expected to further deepen the long-standing partnership between India and Israel and open new avenues for cooperation in priority areas.
