File seeking permission to prosecute KTR stuck with Governor: Revanth Reddy
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said there is a tacit understanding between the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He claimed that the file seeking permission to prosecute BRS leader K.T. Rama Rao in the Formula E race case has been pending with the Governor for two months. Addressing an election rally here on Tuesday night in support of the Congress candidate for the November 11 by-election to the Jubilee Hills Assembly seat, Reddy asked why the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has not filed an FIR in the case related to alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram project constructed during the previous BRS government. He alleged that top BJP leaders are trying to protect BRS president K. Chandrashekhar Rao. Reddy said, “KTR collected election bonds worth Rs 50 crore by awarding a contract to a company in the name of the Formula E race. The Anti-Corruption Bureau registered a case with evidence and sought permission from the Governor for arrest.” The file has been stuck with the Governor for two months.” The Chief Minister asked whether the BJP was not sacrificing its own prospects to help the BRS win the by-election. Reddy claimed this was because the BRS would merge with the BJP in the future.
