Haryana government transfers Rs 109 crore to 5.22 lakh women under the Lado Laxmi Yojana.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini digitally transferred the amount to the accounts of eligible beneficiaries. He said that with this, the BJP government has fulfilled another election promise made to the people of Haryana. “We fulfill what we say… This is Narendra Modi’s guarantee,” Saini said at a press conference here. The Chief Minister also launched a paperless land registration system on the occasion of Haryana’s Foundation Day on Saturday. Responding to questions, Saini said that there will be no restriction on the number of eligible women in a family benefiting from the Lado Laxmi Yojana. Targeting opposition parties, he claimed that the Congress made big promises to the people of Karnataka, Telangana, and Himachal Pradesh but failed to fulfill them. He claimed that similarly, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has not yet fulfilled its promise of giving Rs 1,000 to every woman in Punjab. Saini launched the Deendayal Lado Laxmi Yojana on September 25, the 109th birth anniversary of Deendayal Upadhyaya. Under the scheme, married and unmarried women aged 23 to 60 (who belong to families with an annual income of up to 1 lakh rupees) will receive 2,100 rupees per month through direct benefit transfer (DBT). Women over the age of 60 are automatically eligible for the Old Age Samman Allowance Pension Scheme.
