Seat-sharing issue in Bihar will be resolved: Kharge
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said on Wednesday that the seat-sharing issue with the Grand Alliance for the Bihar Assembly elections is expected to be “resolved.” He said a meeting of party leaders (CEC) will be held this afternoon, which he will participate in virtually. Responding to a question regarding the impasse in the Grand Alliance over seat-sharing for the Bihar elections, Kharge told reporters here, “We are going to resolve it. There is a meeting at 2:30 pm today. I am also joining the meeting virtually. We are resolving it…” When asked how many seats Congress will contest, he said, “We will not disclose how many seats we have finalized right now. In today’s meeting, we will discuss the seats on which we have to compromise and on which there are no disagreements. After 2:30 pm, it will be known how many seats will be decided today and how many tomorrow.” Kharge was discharged from the hospital last week and this was his first interaction with the media after that. He was fitted with a pacemaker at the hospital. The Election Commission announced the dates for the Bihar Assembly elections on Monday. Voting for the state Assembly elections will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11, and the counting of votes will take place on November 14.
