Grand Alliance Sounds the Battle Buzz in Bihar

Congress leader Sachin Pilot on Wednesday expressed optimism about the upcoming Bihar elections and announced that details of the seat-sharing arrangement within the Grand Alliance will be announced soon. Speaking to ANI, Pilot expressed confidence in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s prospects and emphasized that the public’s desire for change, driven by issues like unemployment, poverty, and migration, is clear. Pilot said, “The public has made up their minds, and change will happen in Bihar… Our alliance is receiving overwhelming support at the grassroots level… Our alliance will win the elections by a large margin… We will announce the seat-sharing arrangement in a day or two.” This alliance will contest the elections against the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), which comprises the BJP, JD(U), LJP (RLD), HAM, and other parties. The Grand Alliance in Bihar comprises the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Congress, Vikassheel Insaan Party, and other left-wing parties, including the CPI, CPI(ML). The Election Commission has announced the schedule for the Bihar Assembly elections. Voting for 243 assembly seats will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11, and counting will take place on November 14. The total number of voters in the final list is 7.42 crore, compared to 7.89 crore as of June 24 this year. An Election Commission press release said that 65 lakh voters have been removed from the draft list, and the number of voters in the draft list as of August 1, 2025, was 7.24 crore.
