The four-engine government is busy playing Dandiya.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Saurabh Bhardwaj on Tuesday expressed concern over hundreds of people falling ill in the national capital after consuming adulterated buckwheat flour. Bhardwaj criticized the government, saying that adulteration is affecting food consumed during Navratri, while officials appear unconcerned. In a post on X, Saurabh Bhardwaj wrote that hundreds of people in Delhi have fallen ill after consuming adulterated buckwheat flour. Hundreds of people are reportedly admitted to Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital, and some patients have also reached the hospital in Burari. The post read, “Just imagine: even the food considered pure for those fasting during Navratri is being adulterated. And the four-engine government is busy playing Dandiya.” Police reported on Tuesday that approximately 150-200 people felt unwell after consuming buckwheat flour in areas such as Jahangirpuri, Mahendra Park, Samaypur, Bhalswa Dairy, Lal Bagh, and Swaroop Nagar. The Jahangirpuri police station received information around 6:10 a.m. that a large number of people were experiencing discomfort after consuming buckwheat flour. Upon inquiry at BJRM Hospital, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Vishesh Yadav stated that approximately 150-200 people from areas such as Jahangirpuri, Mahendra Park, Samaypur, Bhalswa Dairy, Lal Bagh, and Swaroop Nagar had come to the emergency ward complaining of vomiting. He further clarified, “No one required hospitalization, and none of the cases were reported to be serious.”
