Yogi’s Pledge: Promote every product made with Indian labor and talent, it’s a national pride
Carrying forward Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for indigenous products, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday urged citizens to support Indian talent and buy products made by indigenous artisans. Addressing a state-level workshop on ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat – Swadeshi Pledge,’ Chief Minister Yogi highlighted the importance of self-reliance in production and national pride. He said the Prime Minister’s message is that we should promote everything made with the labor of Indian artisans and the talent of our youth. Linking this call to a historical perspective, Chief Minister Yogi pointed out that centuries of foreign invasions have devastated India’s population and agriculture. He said that the Hindu population in India, which he estimated to be around 600 million by the year 1100, had declined to around 300 million by the time of independence in 1947. He asked, “By the year 1100, the Hindu population in India was 600 million. And when the country gained independence in 1947, the Hindu population was only 300 million. Tell me, should our population have increased or decreased in these 800-900 years?” Yogi said this means that not only did the population decline, but our agricultural production also decreased. This declining population was not only killed by invaders, but also died from hunger, disease, and all kinds of torture. This is how foreign slavery works. This was imposed on this country too. This country was oppressed and exploited. The Chief Minister further said that despite everything, India had to suffer the consequences of the partition imposed by foreign rulers. Earlier on Monday, when the Goods and Services Tax (GST) 2.0, a significant change in the country’s indirect tax system, came into effect, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote a letter to Indian citizens, highlighting that the “GST Savings Festival” would promote savings and directly benefit every section of society. In his letter, PM Modi wished the countrymen a happy Navratri.
