Akhilesh’s scathing attack on Yogi government, said – law and order collapsed in Gorakhpur
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday criticized the Uttar Pradesh government over the death of a medical student in an encounter with cattle smugglers in Mauchapi village of Gorakhpur and said that the incident has exposed the collapse of law and order in Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s constituency. Yadav claimed that crimes are continuously taking place in Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s constituency, including the murder of a businessman. The SP leader said that this is not the first incident that has happened in the assembly constituency of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath – earlier also a businessman was killed by the police in Gorakhpur. Large-scale injustice is happening in Gorakhpur and its surrounding areas. This raises serious questions on law and order. What is the police doing? This reaction comes after the brutal murder of 19-year-old NEET aspirant Deepak Gupta by cattle smugglers in Mauchapi village of Pipraich police station area of Gorakhpur on Monday night, which led to violent protests, stone pelting and road blockades according to the police. The SP chief urged the Uttar Pradesh government to investigate cattle smuggling in Gorakhpur and demanded a compensation of Rs 5 crore and a government job for the family of the slain medical student. He said that in the Gorakhpur incident, it is being said that they were smuggling cows. The government should investigate who are involved in cow smuggling and such heinous killings in Gorakhpur. We demand that the government give a compensation of Rs 5 crore and a government job to the victim’s family, as the young man was a medical student. The Chief Minister should know how expensive medical studies are. The Samajwadi Party chief stressed the seriousness of the issue given the political importance of Gorakhpur. Akhilesh Yadav said that such crimes are happening continuously in Ghazipur, Kaushambi and Gorakhpur, but no major action has been taken yet. The authority of the government and the police has weakened. Gorakhpur is the home turf of the Chief Minister and if such incidents happen there, it is indeed a matter of serious concern.
