Tejashwi’s big allegation: Nitish is Bhishma Pitamah of corruption, crime-misgovernance increased in Bihar

Describing Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar as Bhishma Pitamah of corruption, Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Yadav on Thursday said the public will take revenge for the mismanagement of the state in the upcoming elections. The Rashtriya Janata Dal leader told reporters in Patna that crimes are increasing in Bihar, the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister are sheltering criminals. There is not a single day when criminal activities are not taking place in the state. Corruption has increased in Bihar. Nitish Kumar has become the ‘Bhishma Pitamah’ of corruption. In connivance with retired officials, they are looting Bihar and the public will take revenge for this in the upcoming elections. Amid the possibility of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists across the country, the RJD leader thanked the Supreme Court for allowing the inclusion of Aadhaar card as a valid identity card. He said that they are not against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) but against the way it is being conducted. He said that I thank the Supreme Court for allowing Aadhaar as an identity card for SIR. This is a big victory for us. We are not against SIR, but against the process of implementing SIR. Earlier on September 10, the Election Commission (EC) held a conference of Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) of all states and Union Territories and assessed the preparations for the nationwide Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists. This was the third conference of Chief Electoral Officers this year. The conference was inaugurated by Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar in the presence of Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi. A presentation was made by the Chief Executive Officer of Bihar on the strategies, constraints and best practices adopted so that the Chief Executive Officers of the rest of the country could learn from their experiences, the Election Commission said in a press release. The status of rationalization of polling stations was also reviewed to ensure uniform implementation of the Commission’s initiative to ensure that no polling station has more than 1,200 voters. The CEOs also provided suggested documents with the objective of ensuring that no eligible citizen is left out of the voter list and no ineligible person is included in it. It was reiterated that these documents will make it easier for eligible citizens to submit the documents.
