Railway Minister Vaishnaw inspects railway development works in Jaipur

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Thursday inspected various development works going on at Jaipur Junction, Gandhinagar and Khatipura railway stations in Rajasthan and reviewed their progress. Vaishnaw arrived at Khatipura railway station from Delhi. He inspected the model of the coach maintenance unit being developed there. He also attended a local program in Jagatpura. On the sidelines of the program, Vaishnaw told reporters that he has discussed with senior officials regarding the development works of the railways. The Railway Minister suggested renaming Gandhinagar and Khatipura railway stations in Jaipur to have more clarity about them. He suggested that Gandhinagar station can be renamed as Jaipur Gandhinagar station so that people can clearly understand that it is Gandhinagar station of Rajasthan and not Gujarat. He asked the officials to take suggestions from public representatives and citizens regarding the names. The Union Minister visited Gandhinagar railway station and inspected the development works going on there. During this, senior railway officials were also with the minister. Vaishnav also attended the award distribution ceremony at the Skill Development Center of Laghu Udyog Bharati. He emphasized the need for new platforms like the famous Y-Combinator based in Silicon Valley, US for ‘incubation’, ‘mentorship’ and ‘funding’ in Rajasthan. He suggested the Rajasthan government and the Government of India to collaborate with Laghu Udyog Bharati to establish such a platform. Vaishnav said that the central government will soon start a special electronics manufacturing training program at the Skill Development Center. He said, this initiative will provide skills to 5,000 youth in the electronics sector and provide them the necessary training for better placement opportunities. Vaishnav paid a courtesy call to Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma. According to the statement, during this, detailed discussions were held on various projects and development works of Railways in Rajasthan. During this, discussions were held on the master plan of Bharatpur railway station for logistics hub, rail connectivity facility from Delhi to Jaisalmer, Udaipur to Jodhpur, Banswara to Delhi and Dungarpur to Mumbai.
