Anurag Thakur surrounded Congress-RJD, said- why share the stage with anti-Ram Stalin?
BJP MP Anurag Thakur on Friday questioned the Congress and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) for giving a platform to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin at an event of India Block in Bihar. Thakur accused Stalin of disrespecting Lord Rama and opposing the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya. Talking to reporters in Patna, the BJP MP said that the person (Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin) who does not believe in Lord Ram, was against the construction of Ram temple and the statements made by his son about Sanatan and he insulted Sanatan. Why did the Congress and RJD give him a place on their stage? The people of Bihar want to know this.” Thakur’s criticism came in the backdrop of senior DMK leader and Tamil Nadu minister Durai Murugan’s remarks. Murugan had rejected the proposal for ‘special in-depth revision’ in Tamil Nadu, saying the state is not like Bihar and people here are politically aware and cannot be mislead. Speaking to media persons in Vellore, the minister made a sharp comparison with Bihar and asserted that Tamil Nadu’s governance and leadership is different from Bihar. “Tamil Nadu is not Bihar. Tamil Nadu is a state where people are aware. The governance there is not like here; here we have the leadership of Thalapathi, and such tricks will not work in Tamil Nadu or with our leader,” Murugan told reporters. The minister’s remarks came in response to the ongoing discussion on the nationwide special in-depth revision (SIR) of voter lists. On Wednesday, the Election Commission (EC) held a conference of chief electoral officers (CEOs) of all states and Union Territories to discuss the nationwide special in-depth revision (SIR) of voter lists. Their preparedness for the (SIR) was assessed. This was the third conference of Chief Electoral Officers this year. The conference was inaugurated by Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar in the presence of Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi.
