Kharge, Rahul on one-day visit to Assam to interact with Congress workers

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi will visit Assam on Wednesday and during this they will interact with the party officials of the state. This will be the first visit of the top party leaders since Gaurav Gogoi took over as the state president ahead of the proposed assembly elections next year. Kharge and Gandhi will attend two meetings during the one-day visit, one of which will be held in Chaygaon, about 40 km from Guwahati. Gogoi said on Tuesday that the party’s district, block and mandal presidents will be able to put their views before the leadership in the meetings. He posted on ‘X’ and said, “This visit reiterates the Congress party’s shared commitment to justice, harmony and inclusive development of all.
