PM Modi’s Bihar visit before elections, will inaugurate projects worth Rs 7000 crore
Despite heavy rains this monsoon, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Bihar again on Friday (July 18) and give the gift of rain to the poll bound state. This will be PM Modi’s fifth visit to the state since January this year. Bihar assembly elections will be held in October-November this year. The PMO said that in Motihari, Bihar, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate development projects related to rail, road, rural development, fisheries, electronics and information technology sectors. According to BJP’s Bihar unit president Dilip Jaiswal, Modi will address a public meeting at Gandhi Maidan in Motihari city, the headquarters of East Champaran district. He said, “Bihar is on top of the Prime Minister’s agenda, this can be gauged from the fact that he will visit the state for the 53rd time since assuming power. He will inaugurate development projects worth Rs 7,196 crore in the state. Jaiswal said these projects are related to various sectors including railways, national highways and roads, rural development, animal husbandry and dairy and information technology. He said, “The cost of railway-related projects is Rs 5,398 crore, while Rs 1,173 crore will be spent on national highways and roads. Rs 63 crore will be spent on IT projects aimed at strengthening digital infrastructure.” The BJP state president said that during the program, Modi will distribute an amount of Rs 162 crore through direct cash transfer to 40,000 beneficiaries of ‘Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana’, while another 12,000 people will be handed over the keys of their new houses. Jaiswal said, “Apart from this, financial assistance of Rs 400 crore will be provided to 61,500 self-help groups during the ceremony. Bihar, which considers Modi as a family member, is eagerly waiting for the Prime Minister.
