BJP slams opposition leader and ‘Nishan-e-Pakistan’ Rahul Gandhi over his statement on IAF jets
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday slammed Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi over a social media post in which he questioned how many IAF jets were lost during Operation Sindoor. The BJP accused him of making reckless statements that could compromise national security. At a press conference, BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia alleged that Gandhi’s comments were being used by Pakistan to target India and demoralise the armed forces. He questioned whether the Congress leader stood with India or its opponents, asking whether Rahul Gandhi was acting as the leader of the opposition or as Pakistan’s “Nishan-e-Pakistan”. BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia said that today the country is asking Rahul Gandhi. It is legitimate to have differences with the Prime Minister, it is part of democracy. However, he said that the kind of language you (Rahul Gandhi) are using against the Prime Minister is extremely disturbing. Your statements are now being discussed in the Parliament of Pakistan. Pakistan is using the words of Congress leaders to target India, and yet you are silent. This is worrying. Bhatia said that Rahul Gandhi, you have to decide whose side you are on. Are you the leader of the opposition of India, or the Nishan-e-Pakistan of Pakistan? The country is watching. It is up to you to decide. Gaurav Bhatia cited Air Marshal Sandeep Singh Bharti’s earlier comment that it is not prudent to disclose details about fighter jets during an active combat scenario.
