‘India cannot be intimidated, we will give a strong response’, said Defense Minister Rajnath Singh

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday chaired an important meeting with National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, Indian Air Force Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi and Navy Chief Dinesh Tripathi regarding the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. 26 people were killed in this attack, most of whom were tourists. At the same time, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh also made a big statement about this in a program. He has first expressed grief over this incident. He clearly said that India cannot be intimidated. Rajnath Singh said that many innocent people lost their lives in the cowardly act in Pahalgam. We are very sad. I express my condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones. He said that I want to reiterate India’s resolve against terrorism. We have a zero tolerance policy towards terrorism … I want to assure the countrymen that the government will take every necessary step. We will reach out not only to those guilty of this act but also to those behind the scenes. The accused will soon get a strong and clear answer, I want to assure the country of this. Army Chief Gen Upendra Dwivedi and Navy Chief Dinesh Tripathi briefed the Defence Minister on the security situation in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining areas following the terror attack in the region, ANI reported citing sources. According to the above-mentioned sources, top officials have reached the affected areas, local security forces have been put on alert and additional troops are being sent to the area to carry out search and destroy operations to nab the terrorists responsible for the attack. Earlier on Tuesday, the Defence Minister expressed “deep anguish” over the attack and called it a cowardly and reprehensible attack on innocent civilians. “Deeply saddened by the news of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam (Jammu and Kashmir). This brutal attack on innocent civilians is cowardly and highly condemnable. My thoughts and prayers are with the innocent victims and their families,” minister Singh said in a post on Twitter.
