Union Minister and Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) chief Jayant Chaudhary, while addressing a gathering of party leaders and workers in Delhi, underlined the lasting legacy of Dr. BR Ambedkar and described him as a “progressive visionary” who shaped the Constitution of India and took the initiative to include marginalized communities in the mainstream. Apart from this, Jayant Chaudhary has also made a big statement on the Waqf Act. Jayant Chaudhary told the party workers that BR Ambedkar was not just the leader of Scheduled Castes and Tribes. He made the Constitution and he was a liberal, progressive leader. He played an important role in bringing people into the mainstream. Along with this, while explaining the plan to expand the party, he said that now for the next six months our party workers will go to many villages and cities for the party’s membership campaign. Our internal elections will be held from October 15 to November and the party will decide the next national president. Responding to a question asked by the media on the Waqf (Amendment) Act, Jayant Chaudhary said that the Parliament has passed this Act after a lot of deliberation and the recommendations of the JPC. The views of every senior leader were considered and after that this Act was passed. Democracy has a process and everyone should have faith in it. The President has also given his approval to it. I urge people not to provoke others as this is a complex Act.
