MK Stalin held an all-party meeting on NEET, made this big allegation on the central government

Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin said that the NEET entrance exam affects students living in poverty. We had sent the proposal to the Governor of Tamil Nadu, he would have sent it to the President, but he did politics on it. We fought on this. We passed the resolution in the state assembly and again sent it to the Governor for the President’s assent. I met the Governor personally and requested him. The central government may have rejected our bill, but I believe that if we continue to take legal measures, we will get NEET exemption for Tamil Nadu. The bill passed by the Tamil Nadu Assembly sought to exempt students from NEET-based admissions to undergraduate medical courses in government institutions. CM Stalin accused the central government of ignoring the state’s well-thought-out justification for the exemption. He said the Center “ignored” the detailed explanations submitted by the Tamil Nadu government to several central ministries, including Health, AYUSH, Home Ministry and Higher Education. Describing the Centre’s action as “a dark chapter in the history of cooperative federalism”, CM Stalin said it undermines the dignity of the state legislature and the democratic will of the people of Tamil Nadu. He said the state would consult legal experts to determine the future course of action. Recalling the legislative history of the Bill, the Chief Minister said it was first passed unanimously in the Assembly on September 13, 2021, based on the recommendations of a high-level committee headed by retired High Court judge Justice A.K. Rajan.
