‘SP should stop baking its political bread under the cover of Agra incident’, Mayawati targets Akhilesh Yadav’s party The recent Agra incident has once again brought the politics of Uttar Pradesh to a boil. Karni Sena workers have vandalised the house of Samajwadi MP Ramjilal Suman. Now Mayawati has also targeted the Samajwadi Party. Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) national president and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati on Friday targeted Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav and said that SP should stop baking its political bread under the cover of Agra incident. The BSP chief on Friday reminded of an incident that took place during the government led by SP founder Mulayam Singh Yadav in a post on ‘X’ and said, “Along with the Agra incident, the SP chief should also remember the murderous attack on me by this party in the Lucknow State Guest House incident on June 2, 1995 during their (SP’s) government and should also repent for it.” He said, “So now SP should stop using the Agra incident as a pretext to try to gain political mileage and should not allow Dalits to be harassed here any more like the Agra incident.” Recently, while making a controversial remark on Rana Sanga in the Rajya Sabha, SP’s Ramjilal Suman had called him a “traitor”. In protest against this, Karni Sena workers had vandalised MP Suman’s residence in Agra on Wednesday. After the attack on Suman’s residence, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav condemned the violence and questioned the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh under the Yogi Adityanath-led government. He said that SP is not questioning Rana Sanga’s bravery and claimed that the attack happened “because Suman is a Dalit”.
