‘Number of crimes is more in ‘double engine’ states, Home Minister is not giving answer’, claims AAP leader Sanjay Singh

AAP MP Sanjay Singh has hit back at Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s speech in the Rajya Sabha. He said that there are 10 times more crimes in the country’s capital Delhi than in other union territories, crime is at its peak here but you (Home Minister Amit Shah) did not give any answer to this. He alleged that people of your party are engaged in spreading hatred all over the country. Home Minister Amit Shah did not say anything on all these issues. What benefit is this country getting from destructive politics? How much employment have the people of the country got from all this? Earlier in the Rajya Sabha on Friday, Aam Aadmi Party leader Sanjay Singh claimed that in the states with ‘double engine governments’, the incidents of crime have increased a lot compared to other states, so the Union Home Ministry has double responsibility and accountability. Participating in the discussion in the Upper House on the functioning of the Home Ministry, Sanjay Singh said that today most of the states in the country have ‘double engine’ governments. He said that wherever Prime Minister Narendra Modi goes, he asks people to form a ‘double engine’ government. Singh said that is why the Union Home Ministry has double responsibility and accountability regarding security in the country. Citing the data of the National Crime Bureau, he said that compare the number of crimes in states with ‘double engine governments’ with those states where such governments do not exist. He said that this comparison will reveal where crimes are more. He said that today there is an Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab and compare the crime figures there with Haryana where the population is less than Punjab but still crimes are more. Earlier, Amit Shah had said that the Constitution has placed the responsibility of law and order on the states. Today many crimes do not happen within the boundaries of a state, but inter-state. Narcotics, cyber crime, gangs of organized crime. Many crimes are committed from outside the country’s border. He stressed that we are committed to uproot terrorism. I say again that by March 31, 2026, this country will be free from Naxalism.
