Those who study in their mother tongue are achieving success across the world: Naidu
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday said that those who get education in their mother tongue are achieving success across the world. Naidu said that it is a misconception that knowledge can be acquired only in English. “It is only a medium of communication. Knowledge will not come from within. Those who study in their mother tongue are achieving success across the world,” Naidu said in the Assembly. He said that it is easy to get education in the mother tongue. Naidu’s remarks came after Deputy Chief Minister and Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan recently commented on the ongoing dispute between the Tamil Nadu government and the Central government. The Chief Minister said, “I am telling you this very clearly… it is not for hatred. Here (in Andhra Pradesh) mother tongue is Telugu. Hindi is the ‘national language’ and the international is English.” Naidu stressed that it is important to learn as many languages as possible without forgetting the mother tongue for livelihood. He said that by learning the mother tongue, one can easily converse in Hindi in Delhi. He appealed that there is no need to get involved in unnecessary politics over languages. Naidu called for learning as many languages as possible.
