Nadda meets BJP leaders in Odisha amid speculations of appointment of new president

Amid speculations of appointment of new president of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s Odisha unit, Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda met senior party leaders here on Friday. Party national president Nadda held a closed-door meeting with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Manjhi, party’s Odisha unit president Manmohan Samal, state in-charge Vijay Pal Singh Tomar and organization secretary Manas Mohanty. A BJP source said that during his visit to Odisha, Nadda also met Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati in the presence of the Chief Minister at Raj Bhavan. Party’s state unit vice-president Biranchi Narayan Tripathi said that the election of the state president will be held as per the proper procedure. Tripathi told reporters, “You will soon know about the new president of the party.” Earlier, the BJP national president visited the Lord Jagannath temple in Puri.
