President Draupadi Murmu on Saturday said that big changes will happen in the future with far-reaching advances in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning. Murmu said that the Center is taking steps to integrate AI in higher education and it is a matter of pride that Ranchi-based Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra is a pioneer in this field by starting related courses in 2023. Addressing the ‘Platinum’ Jubilee celebrations of BIT Mesra, Murmu said, “Big changes will happen in the future with far-reaching advances expected in AI and machine learning. The Government of India is taking steps to integrate AI in higher education. The opportunities being created in the field of technology should also be made available to the marginalized communities and the benefits of the big changes being made should be available to all. However, she cautioned innovators and entrepreneurs not to ignore the knowledge base of traditional communities, saying, “Often, problems do not require big technological interventions.” The President inaugurated an exhibition showcasing science, technology, innovation and entrepreneurship. President Murmu arrived in Jharkhand on Friday on a two-day visit and stayed overnight at the Raj Bhavan. Security arrangements have been tightened in the Jharkhand capital in view of her visit.
