There should be no unilateral decision to buy F-35 aircraft: Surjewala

Surjewala posted on ‘X’, “Prime Minister Modi is buying F-35 fighter aircraft from America. But did the Modi government consider some aspects in the interest of the country before taking a unilateral decision to buy F-35 aircraft on the behest of President Trump.” He questioned whether the Modi government wants the Indian Air Force to buy F-35 fighter aircraft in accordance with the country’s defense interests and whether the Air Force’s opinion was taken? Surjewala said, “Why did the committee of pilots and defense experts of the Indian Air Force not investigate and make any recommendation to buy F-35 fighter aircraft, nor did the Defense Purchase Council, which decides defense purchase deals, make any such recommendation?” He questioned that then how can the Prime Minister take a unilateral decision? He also raised questions about the price of this aircraft. The Congress leader said, “Doesn’t Prime Minister Modi know that the F-35 aircraft is the most expensive fighter aircraft in the world?
