Assam CM expresses grief over deaths in stampede at New Delhi railway station

Eighteen people were killed and over a dozen injured in a stampede at the New Delhi railway station on Saturday night. “I am deeply saddened by the horrific news of the stampede at New Delhi Railway Station. On behalf of the people of Assam, we offer our deepest condolences to those who lost their loved ones in the stampede,” Sharma wrote on social media platform ‘X’. The stampede occurred after a huge crowd of passengers rushed to catch a train to Prayagraj (where the Maha Kumbh is being held) on platforms 14 and 15. It was not immediately clear if any Assam resident was among the dead or injured.
