Nitish announced ex-gratia for the families of the people of Bihar killed in the stampede

Patna. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed grief over the death of people in the stampede at New Delhi Railway Station late Saturday night. The Chief Minister announced to give Rs 2 lakh each to the families of the people of Bihar killed in the stampede and Rs 50,000 to the injured from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. A statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office said, “The Chief Minister has expressed grief over the death of people in the stampede at New Delhi Railway Station. He is very saddened by the death of the people of Bihar in this incident and has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to the injured.” Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has also expressed grief over the incident. Choudhary said, the incident at New Delhi Railway Station is heart-wrenching. I have deep condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in this incident. I pray to God for the peace of the departed souls and speedy recovery of the injured. Meanwhile, RJD chief Lalu Prasad criticised the BJP-led government at the Centre over the incident and demanded the resignation of the Railway Minister. “The stampede incident is very disturbing…it has exposed the inadequate arrangements made by the Central government. The Railway Minister should resign after this incident,” Prasad told reporters here.
