BJP issues show cause notice to minister Anil Vij, seeks reply in three days
The Bharatiya Janata Party has issued a show cause notice to Haryana cabinet minister Anil Vij for his public remarks against the state party president and chief minister. The notice, sent by Haryana BJP president Mohan Lal Badoli, said Vij’s statements were made in public at a time when the party was actively engaged in election campaign in the neighbouring state. The notice said Vij’s statements potentially damaged the party’s image and unity. The party has sought a reply from Vij within three days, calling such remarks unacceptable. Last month, Vij on Saturday said Mohan Lal Badoli should resign from the post of state BJP chief to maintain the “sanctity” of the party until he was found innocent. His statement came after Badoli was booked in a gang rape case. Badoli and singer Rocky Mittal were booked after a woman alleged that she was raped at a hotel in Himachal Pradesh’s Kasauli. The police had registered an FIR against them. Speaking in Ambala on January 31, Vij expressed disappointment over the lack of action against those who allegedly worked against him in the election. “I had lodged a written complaint against those who tried to defeat me – be it officers, employees or small leaders. It has been 100 days, yet neither have I been asked about it nor has any action been taken. I suspect that there was someone big behind this conspiracy to defeat me,” he said. Taking a direct dig at CM Saini, Vij said, “Ever since becoming the Chief Minister, he has been constantly ‘udankhatola’…he should come down and look at the public. This is not just my voice, it is the voice of all the MLAs and ministers.” Speaking in Ambala on January 31, Vij expressed disappointment over the lack of action against those who allegedly worked against him in the election.
