Can Kejriwal take a dip in Yamuna with his cabinet? Yogi’s attack in Delhi’s political arena
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday addressed his first election rally in Kirari, and urged voters to support the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. The rally drew a huge crowd as CM Yogi promised development, improved law and order and corruption-free administration. Intensifying his criticism of AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, Yogi questioned whether AAP leaders and their ministers would dare to take a dip in the polluted Yamuna river. Yogi challenged, saying, “If as a Chief Minister I and my ministers can take a dip in Sangam in Prayagraj, then I want to ask Aam Aadmi Party president Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi, can he go and take a dip in Yamuna with his ministers? I don’t think they will dare and I don’t think the people of Delhi will forgive them for this negligence.” Yogi said, “This is the national capital. Look at the condition of roads, water supply and electricity in Delhi apart from the NDMC area.” A decade ago, people came here for better infrastructure, metro services and cleanliness. But what has this government turned it into now? The roads are full of potholes, and at some places, it is hard to tell if there is a road underneath the potholes. There are heaps of garbage and filth everywhere. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath lashed out at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, accusing it of mismanagement in Delhi. “Sewage is flowing on the roads and a severe drinking water crisis is looming. The AAP government has failed to address these basic issues,” he said. Criticising the AAP leadership, Adityanath accused them of prioritising social media over real governance. “Instead of working for the public, AAP leaders, including Arvind Kejriwal, spend their time lying. If they had put the same amount of effort into governance, Delhi could have changed,” he said.
