NDA government gave Bharat Ratna to Karpoori Thakur, followed his policies: Samrat Chaudhary

Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary said that since the time of Jan Sangh, BJP supported Karpoori Thakur’s decision to give reservation to backward and extremely backward society and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government honored the Jan Nayak by giving him Bharat Ratna. Before participating in the program organized in his village yesterday on the 101st birth anniversary of Karpoori Thakur, Chaudhary said that in 1978, Karpoori Thakur’s government gave 12 percent reservation to the extremely backward and 8 percent reservation to the backward. At that time, the strong leader of Jan Sangh (now BJP) Kailashpati Mishra, who was part of the government, supported Karpoori ji. He said that Lalu Prasad, who tried to take credit for the work of Jan Nayak on reservation, had conducted panchayat elections without giving reservation during his 15 years of rule, while Nitish Kumar gave reservation to Dalits, backward and women in panchayats. At that time also BJP was part of the government and late Sushil Kumar Modi was the Deputy Chief Minister. Deputy Chief Minister Choudhary said that BJP and NDA government follow the ideals of Karpoori ji, while the opposition only does politics in his name. Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary will also attend the special program organized at Karpoori Thakur’s village in Samastipur along with Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and Nitish Kumar, Chief Minister, Bihar, Union Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan.
