Karpoori Thakur’s life and ideals will continue to inspire every generation of the country: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday paid tribute to former Bihar Chief Minister Bharat Ratna Karpoori Thakur on his 101st birth anniversary and said that his life and ideals will continue to inspire every generation of the country. The Government of India had posthumously awarded ‘Bharat Ratna’ to former Bihar Chief Minister Karpoori Thakur last year. The Prime Minister said in a post on Instagram, “Respectful tributes to former Bihar Chief Minister Bharat Ratna Karpoori Thakur ji on his birth anniversary. The leader of the masses dedicated his entire life to social justice and made many efforts in this direction. His life and ideals will continue to inspire every generation of the country.” Thakur, who was the Chief Minister of Bihar twice, was born on 24 January 1924 and died on 17 February 1988.
