Government is committed to ensure that there is no discrimination against girl child: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on National Girl Child Day on Friday said that India is proud of the achievements of girls in all fields. Modi said that his government is equally determined to ensure that there is no discrimination against girl child. “Today, on National Girl Child Day, we reiterate our commitment to empower girl child and ensure wider opportunities for them. India is proud of the achievements of girl child in all fields. Their achievement will continue to inspire all of us,” the Prime Minister said in a post on X. Modi said that his government has focused on other areas like education, technology, skill and health, which have contributed to empowering girl child. National Girl Child Day is celebrated every year on 24 January, dedicated to promoting the rights of girl child and their overall development. It was started by the Government of India in 2008 to spread awareness about girls in the society.
