He has directed the security agencies to completely curb terrorism in the region. During a high-level meeting at the Home Ministry to review the security situation in the Union Territory, Shah said that in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “zero tolerance” policy towards terrorism, “we will achieve the goal of terrorism-free Jammu and Kashmir as soon as possible.” Let us tell you that an official statement from the ministry said that Shah assured that all necessary resources would be allocated to support this campaign. The Home Minister highlighted the commitment of the central government and emphasized that there is a determination to eliminate terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir with the joint efforts of all security forces. He described the remarkable participation of local people in both the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections as a proof of their faith in democracy. Let us tell you that this was Shah’s first meeting to review the security situation in the Union Territory after the recent Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections. Omar met Shah for the second time after taking over as the Chief Minister of the Union Territory on October 16. The Chief Minister said that the talks took place “in a cordial manner”. He said, “We always hope to work in a better environment so that the people of Jammu and Kashmir can get its benefit.” The meeting lasted for 30 minutes. After this, the Chief Minister told reporters that he briefed the Home Minister about the situation in the Union Territory and the experience of his government in the last two months. Abdullah said, “Yes, I raised the issue of early restoration of statehood with the Home Minister.”
