I am ready to resign from the post of Maharashtra Congress unit president: Nana Patole
Nagpur. Congress’ Maharashtra unit president Nana Patole said that he has expressed his wish to resign from the post and now the party high command will decide on it. While talking to reporters at the Vidhan Bhavan premises, Patole said that the leader of the Congress Legislative Party in the state assembly will be elected today. After the party’s worst ever defeat in the Maharashtra assembly elections, party sources had earlier claimed that the senior Congress leader had requested the central leadership to relieve him of the responsibility of the organizational post. However, Patole had clarified last week that he has not resigned and rumours are being spread. Patole said that the Congress’ Maharashtra in-charge will reach the city on Tuesday evening and the party leader will be elected in the state assembly. He said that there will also be discussion about the post of state president. When asked whether he has resigned from the post of Congress state chief, Patole said, I have expressed my wish. The party high command will decide on it.
