BJP toppled everyone’s governments: Sanjay Singh
A war of words broke out between Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh and Union Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda in Rajya Sabha after the latter accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of toppling governments in opposition-ruled states. During a discussion on ’75 years of glorious journey of the Constitution of India’ in the Rajya Sabha, Singh said, “They don’t allow Dalits to enter temples. Their mindset is clear. When the foundation stone of the Ayodhya temple was laid, our PM, UP CM and Governor were present, but the then President Ram Nath Kovind was not invited. President Draupadi Murmu was not invited for the inauguration of the temple because she is from the Dalit and tribal community. Why did no RSS chief come from the Dalit or tribal community? They should answer this.” Sanjay Singh said that across the country, they topple governments through horse-trading and manipulation. This country will run according to Babasaheb’s Constitution and not according to the orders of Modi or Amit Shah. Someone said something about jail from the treasury bench. To this, Sanjay Singh said that do not give these threats. The day the power changes, not a single person will remain outside. Give ED-CBI for just three hours, I will send everyone to jail. Countering Singh, Nadda said that Sanjay Singh has said that we (BJP) toppled governments. We were elected for the fifth time in Madhya Pradesh. We formed the government for the second time in a row in Uttar Pradesh. You talked about Maharashtra. We had a landslide victory in Maharashtra. We are making a hat-trick with the blessings of the people and the time is not far when we will come (to power) in Delhi as well. Nadda’s comment is important as the BJP wants to oust the AAP from power in the Union Territory. In the 2020 assembly elections, the Arvind Kejriwal-led party won 62 out of 70 seats.
