Amit Shah surrounded the Congress while referring to Muslim Personal Law and said that Congress should clarify whether there should be a law or not. They also brought the Hindu Code Bill along with Muslim Personal Law. We want the laws to be new. There is no old rule in the Hindu Code Bill. They named the general law as Hindu Code Bill. Let’s accept that there should be a personal law. So implement the entire Sharia. Personal law for marriage and divorce, this appeasement has started from here. We have brought UCC in Uttarakhand, our governments will bring UCC in other states as well. Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the Congress government led by then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi imposed emergency for 21 months in June 1975 as the Allahabad High Court had declared their election to power illegal. Shah said that during the emergency, lakhs of people were jailed and heavy censorship was imposed on the media. He cited an instance where the Indian Express had published a blank page editorial in protest against the Emergency. Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that he came to know about the Emergency while listening to Binaca Geetmala, which was suddenly stopped. He stressed that there was an argument between Kishore Kumar and Indira Gandhi and Indira Gandhi did not want his songs on Binaca Geetmala. Amit Shah said how did I come to know about the Emergency? I used to listen to Binaca Geetmala, but it was suddenly stopped. So I fought at home. My neighbor told me that there was a fight between Kishore Kumar and Indira Gandhi and she did not want his songs on Binaca Geetmala, new recordings were done and for 19 months people heard the duets of Lata Mangeshkar and Kishore Kumar in Lata’s voice only and these people are talking about democracy, due to which the public gave them such a big punishment that they cannot even dream of repeating it.
