The false story of changing the Constitution is ‘over’, Mahayuti alliance will win: Fadnavis

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday said that the false stories of changing the Constitution that the opposition had fabricated against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during the Lok Sabha elections have ‘over’ and it will have no role in the assembly elections to be held on November 20. Fadnavis told reporters after addressing an election rally in Nagpur South West constituency during the day. When asked about the difference in the atmosphere of the assembly elections compared to the general elections, the deputy chief minister said, “We have completely dispelled the false stories that were fabricated during the Lok Sabha elections (BJP’s slogan of winning more than 400 seats to change the Constitution) and the people are standing with us.”The Mahayuti alliance of the BJP, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) had won only 17 of the 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra. The opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi won 30 seats while an independent (who won from Sangli) is also with them. Fadnavis said, “The Mahayuti alliance will win the assembly elections with a majority.”The Nagpur South West constituency came into existence in the year 2009 and since then Fadnavis has been an MLA from this seat. The results of the Maharashtra Assembly elections will be declared on November 23.
