The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Friday seized over 80 kg cocaine worth around Rs 900 crore in the national capital, Home Minister Amit Shah said. He said the government’s “strict” action against drug gangs will continue. The seizure of the “high-grade” party drug came on a day when the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Navy and Gujarat ATS recovered nearly 700 kg of methamphetamine from the Gujarat offshore in a joint operation. Eight Iranian nationals were also arrested in the sea operation. “Two consecutive major successes against illegal drugs in a single day reflect the Modi government’s unwavering resolve to make India a drug-free country,” Shah posted on X. The NCB today seized 82.53 kg of high-grade cocaine in New Delhi. “He said the huge consignment of drugs is worth about Rs 900 crore and the success was achieved as a result of a crackdown following the seizure of a large quantity of drugs from a courier centre in Delhi. The Home Minister said, “Our strict action against the drug racket will continue.” He congratulated the federal anti-narcotics agency for this “big” success in seizing the cocaine consignment.
