Ajit Pawar claims about Mahayuti, will win more than 175 seats
People’s Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti on Monday demanded that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah ensure a fair and thorough review of the cases of dismissal of government employees by the Lieutenant Governor in Jammu and Kashmir. Since the repeal of Article 370 of the Constitution, about 70 government employees have been dismissed in Jammu and Kashmir under Article 311 (2) (C) for allegedly having links with terrorism and related offenses. This provision gives the President or Governor the right to dismiss an employee without resorting to the normal process. The PDP president said that the sudden dismissal of government employees without due process (which is a method started from 2019) has devastated many families and in some cases made them destitute. In a letter to the Chief Minister, she said, I propose the establishment of a review committee which can re-evaluate such cases in a systematic manner. The PDP chairman said the proposed committee could work towards re-evaluating the dismissals by conducting a fair and thorough review of each case, giving affected persons or their families an opportunity to present their case.
