Photos of those who spit on the road after eating paan and gutkha should be printed in newspapers, Nitin Gadkari gave an idea in Swachhata Abhiyan program
Union Road and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari gave a unique idea to deal with those who eat paan masala, gutkha and spit on the road. Gadkari said that photos of those who spit on the road after eating paan, masala and gutkha should be taken and printed in newspapers. Gadkari was speaking at a program organized by Nagpur Municipal Corporation regarding Swachh Bharat on Gandhi Jayanti. Apart from this, Gadkari also talked about those who litter in public places. He said that the people of our country are very smart, they eat chocolates and throw its wrappers on the roads and when the same person goes abroad, he keeps the chocolate wrapper in his pocket, behaves well abroad and throws it on the road here. Giving his own example, Gadkari said that whenever he eats chocolate nowadays, he throws away the chocolate wrapper after reaching home. Earlier he also had the habit of throwing out the wrapper after drinking alcohol. The PM Modi-led government has dedicated Gandhi Jayanti as a symbolic day of clean India. Every year, the government and other state institutions organise Swachhata Abhiyan (cleanliness drive) or events around it. PM Modi today visited a school in Pandara Park and cleaned the area by sweeping. Several such events were organised across the country. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also took part in the cleanliness drive in the Parliament premises.
