Tejashwi Yadav said that the Chief Minister of Assam deliberately keeps doing acts to harass Muslims in an attempt to gain cheap popularity and become the “Chinese version of Yogi”. He said that the people of BJP have made Muslim brothers a soft target to spread hatred, attract the attention of Modi-Shah and polarize the society. He said that people of all religions, except RSS, have a hand in the independence of the country. Our Muslim brothers have made sacrifices to get the country freedom and as long as we are alive, no one can harm them. The Assam Assembly will end the two-hour break given to Muslim MLAs to offer namaz on Fridays. In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, Sarma said that by ending the two-hour Jumma break, the Assam Assembly has prioritized productivity and ended another mark of colonial burden. This practice was started by Syed Sadulla of the Muslim League in 1937. Sarma said, “Thanks to Assembly Speaker Biswajit Daimary and our MLAs for this historic decision.” The official said that the last time this two-hour break was given was on Friday, which was the last day of the autumn session of the Assembly.
