Government failed to deal with floods: Mayawati

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati on Sunday accused the government of failing to deal with the problem of floods in various parts of the country and said that governments should focus not only on relief but also on flood prevention. Mayawati posted on social media platform X, “Due to not being able to properly deal with the situation arising due to floods caused by heavy rains in various states of the country, the lives of lakhs of families have been disrupted. Such devastation ruins people’s lives.” She said, “Not only relief, but governments should also pay proper attention to flood prevention.” It is worth noting that the situation has worsened due to torrential rains and floods in many states of the country, including Gujarat and Tripura, especially in the central and western regions.
