Nadda targeted Kerala government over Hema Committee report and Wayanad landslide

Palakkad (Kerala). Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President and Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda on Sunday targeted the Left government of Kerala over the delay in releasing the report of Justice Hema Committee and the death of more than 200 people in the landslide in Wayanad district of the state. Nadda, who came to Kerala to participate in the three-day coordination meeting organized by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) here, questioned the delay in releasing the committee’s report and the implementation of its recommendations. Nadda said, who was stopping them? Who was troubling them? This was done because they are involved in it. They want to hide something because their people are involved in it. The Union Minister said at an event, I am sad to say that the Hema Committee report specifically states that the leaders of the Marxist Communist Party are involved. The Chief Minister should tell everything clearly. He should tell what really happened. In 2017, the Kerala government had constituted a committee headed by Justice K. Hema after a case of harassment of an actress came to light. The committee’s report has revealed cases of harassment and exploitation of women in the Malayalam cinema industry. Referring to the landslide incidents in Wayanad, Nadda said, the Meteorological Department had warned and NDRF forces were here, but the state government was sleeping and hence, action was not taken in time.
