PM Modi lauds Jan Dhan Yojana as it completes 10 years

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday lauded those who worked to make the Jan Dhan Yojana a success and said the scheme has been paramount in promoting financial inclusion. “Today is a historic day – Jan Dhan Yojana completes 10 years. Best wishes to all beneficiaries and many congratulations to all those who worked day and night to make this scheme a success,” the Prime Minister said in a post on social media platform ‘X’. He said the Jan Dhan Yojana has been paramount in promoting financial inclusion and giving dignity to crores of people, especially women, youth and underprivileged communities. Launched on this day in 2014, the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana is a national mission on financial inclusion that involves an integrated approach for comprehensive financial inclusion of all families in the country. The scheme aims to ensure universal access to banking facilities with at least one basic banking account for every family, financial literacy, access to credit, insurance and pension facilities.
