NCP MP Supriya Sule’s phone and WhatsApp account hacked, hackers demand $400
Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Supriya Sule on Monday said that after hacking her WhatsApp account, hackers have sent messages demanding $400 from her team, after which she is being blackmailed. Sule said that party general secretary Aditi Nalawade’s WhatsApp was also hacked. The hackers demanded Rs 10,000 from her. We tried to keep her busy by agreeing to pay the money. She also shared bank account details to transfer the money. The Baramati MP announced on Sunday that her phone and WhatsApp had been hacked. She urgently requested people not to call or message her. The Lok Sabha MP said in a post on X (formerly Twitter), “Urgent: My phone and WhatsApp have been hacked. Please do not call or message me. I have contacted the police for help.” The NCP (SP) leader called it “very serious” and said there was nothing to hide in her phone. Sule later lodged a complaint at the Yavat police station and spoke to Superintendent of Police Pankaj Deshmukh, who assured her of an investigation. “My phone and WhatsApp have started working. The WhatsApp team provided valuable assistance. Many thanks to Team WhatsApp and Pune Rural Police for this. If anyone has messaged me in the meantime, I apologize for not being able to respond due to this technical glitch,” Sule said in a post on Instagram. Supriya Sule also revealed that she received a notice from the Income Tax Department after the budget session.
